A Walk Back Memory Lane...June

Junes outfits included ankara print and bold, bold colors!!

Now you all know I love peplums, so the first look featured one of my ankara pieces I got custom made in Ghana. What I love about this belt is that I can throw it on anytime and I have an instant peplum look!!! So I rocked the belt with a black, sleeveless crop top and a body con skirt. I kept my shoes black, so the statement piece was the ankara belt. For accessories I wore my black and gold lionhead necklace, which has become one of my favourite necklaces and rocked my leopard print shades. This outfit had me feeling super sexy!!

The second look was menswear inspired, which I occasionally don't mind rocking...I wore red skinny jeans with a striped black and white shirt. And as always, I had to throw my own little bit of flavour into the mix, so i added my other kente bow tie, and also my wrist beads from Ghana! I decided to wear my orange pointed heels with the gold stiletto detail. For my bag, I wore my black 'chanel inspired' quilt bag, which once again I got on ebay. I love this bag, because its large in size so it fits alot of stuff, which I need...cause I throw everything in my bag!! lol

The ankara pieces in the next look were sent to me for review from Afrikinspired Clothing, which is a company operating out of Accra, Ghana and also Boston, USA. Their vision is to make African wear affordable while keeping the authenticity.
The owner contacted me and told me that they came across my youtube channel and that I ''embodied what they had in mind when they created their company, because my ability to use ankara in everyday wear is wonderful,'' which I thought was very nice of them to share with me!!!

The items they sent included a chiffon top with ankara collar from Ghanaian designer Bvenaj, ankara button earrings, ankara wavy bangles, and a high waisted ankara skirt.

With the first look, I decided to pair the ankara collar top with a black pencil skirt with a peplum detail. For my shoes, I wore my mustard coloured wedges, which complemented the top very nicely!

With look 2, I played on the colors from the ankara skirt and accessories. I decided to pair it with a pinkish-coral colored top, my yellow aldo flats and, threw on these geek glasses!

If you like ankara as much as I do, you should definitely check out Afrikinspired!
And don't forget to go to my youtube channel to see the review of these items, and also the outfit video featuring these looks.

The final look for the month was all about bold color!!! I love how fuchsia looks against my complexion, so I paired up a fuchsia skater dress, with a fuchsia blazer and my fuchsia heels (which you've seen alot)!! Yes!! Fuchsia, fuchsia fuchsia!!! I added my ankara clutch (with hints of fuchsia) to break it up just a little. For accessories, i went for bold pieces, with my gold lionhead necklace, a crystal studded square bangle, and my 'YSL inspired' rings!!

 Thanks for stopping by!
